DETROIT, MI — In an unprecedented show of unity (or possibly just shared Spotify playlists), Detroit’s two hip-hop powerhouses — Hot 107.5 and 97.9 WJLB — have entered into a groundbreaking agreement to simultaneously broadcast the exact same 5 songs in the exact same order at all times.

“People were already asking if we were just flipping back and forth between the same Future and Sexyy Red tracks,” said a rep from Hot 107.5. “Now they’ll know for sure — we are.”

The agreement, officially dubbed The ‘Same Song Sync Act,’ was allegedly hashed out over a game of Uno and a shared bottle of Hennessy during a Power Weekend event. Executives from both stations agreed that, since both stations already:

  • Played “WAP” five times a day,
  • Took requests that had already been scheduled,
  • And ran contests for Drake tickets they didn’t really have,

it just made sense to streamline the experience.

What to Expect:

  • 9:00am: Drake – “God’s Plan”
  • 9:03am: GloRilla – “Yeah Glo!”
  • 9:06am: Latto – “Put It On Da Floor Again”
  • 9:09am: Rod Wave crying
  • 9:13am: Lil Durk feat. J. Cole – “All My Life” Repeat every 42 minutes, forever.

Detroiters report no noticeable change in programming: “I honestly thought this already happened,” said longtime listener LaToya from Southfield. “I just switch back and forth during commercial breaks—except the commercials are the same too.”

Insiders say the merger will help cut costs, save DJ vocal cords, and allow both stations to finally admit they’re basically just running a loop while pretending to be live.

Rumors are swirling of a third station joining the alliance, but 105.9 Kiss FM declined, stating:

“We’re still playing Mary J. Blige and pretending it’s 2006. We’re good.”
